madjawaHappy Birthday to our favorite Reaper/Rapper/Father Figure! So stoked to watch the 3D live so I'm making sure to post this a couple minutes ahead of time. For me, like many others I'm sure, Calli is the one who got me interested in hololive. Outside of a few online friends sending me Korone and Marine clips, I had never really cared much about vtubers, besides maybe a bit of Kizuna way back when she was getting started. After binging some vocaloid songs on youtube, Red came up on my recommendations, leading me to clips, streams, and now being neck deep in the Hololive hole and loving every minute of it! So thanks, Dad, and here's to another year of awesome!
On the learning side of things: Good lord, trying to draw an under-the-chin angle is rough, doubly so for anime-style. This week was a lot of experimenting with texture layers, various ways of implementing glow effects, and transparent parts of clothes. The inspiration should be pretty obvious, but in case you haven't checked it out yet, the UnAlive video is pretty great(inspiration starts at 2:35.) Still lots of stuff to learn and improve upon, but I didn't have much time this week and am glad with what I did learn this time around.
