A concept for a theoretically simple and economical multi-caliber single shot break open firearm design for sporting/hunting that has the locking mechanism incorporated into its striker, hence the name "SLF" for Striker Locket Firearm.
This idea is to make both the firing and locking mechanism simpler than if the two systems were separate and it is opened for reloading by pulling back on the hook-shaped part which does both unlocking and coking the gun. The trigger system should theoretically be rather simple too as it is made out of just 3 pieces, trigger, trigger spring, and the sear. The safety is a simple moving block that prevents the sear from mowing when pulled back. When the trigger is pressed the cut channel on the trigger will pull the sear down letting the striker and lock combo move and fire while locking also the gun. The system should also be rather modular as it could have a stock and barrels of different lengths be added and be chambered in any rimmed or belted cartridge like 30-30, 7.62x54r, 45-70 govt, 500 magnum, 460 Weatherby magnum and 12 gauge shotshells. Changing the caliber of the firearm should be as simple as replacing the barrel assembly for a new one, stock and longer barrels can be attached too. Effectively this firearm system is rather similar to that of the rolling block rifle but linear.
Another part of the firearm design is its muzzle brake, the bell muzzle brake. Its idea is to use rocket bell thruster-shaped ports for recoil management, using a rocket thruster-like shape could theoretically be more effective than more usual muzzle brake designs.
