20DX00I've participated in the 2nd and 4th skin contests before and I wanted to participate in 2021's SR Skin Contest but didn't find the time to make it so this project was planned for next year's skin contest... but then they announced that Soccer Spirits is discontinuing updates starting September 2021, so I guess that means there might not be another skin contest in the future, especially since this year's number of entries were not too spectacular as well. So I decided to turn this project into a Christmas themed fanart for my favorite character in the game, the SR Light Striker Pepen.
It's still weird to see a game I've played for 7 years discontinued ... I started playing this game since I was in secondary school and now I'm in my second year of university, this game has pretty much been with me for my entire drawing 'career' (I'm still gonna play it until it inevitably shuts down one day). The game changed a lot over the years, even the EXP Penguins in this fanart have been fazed out in favor of other EXP gaining mechanics, so I decided to bring them back as a throwback.
Consider this my Christmas present to Soccer Spirits and its amazing community. Thank you for 7 years, there hasn't been (and probably will never be) a gacha card game this unique and made me consistently return to it.
