A simple 3d model based on a pistol/”improvements in firearms design” patented in 1898 by Dr Samuel Neal McClean of Washington, Iowa. US601840A https://patents.google.com/patent/US601840A/en?oq=us601840. Dr Samuel Neal McClean some times refered to as “Dr Sam” was a late 19th century, originally a doctor, but later he became interested in firearms design which culminated him to come up and invent multiple bizare and interesting firearms and other inventions.
McCleans most influetial work was inventing the fundamentals of the Lewis Machine Gun, which was later perfected by Isaac Newton Lewis of whom the machinegun was named after.
one of the most interesting aspect of the McCleans pistol is that its an lever action pistol that uses a thumb trigger to fire (a trigger actuated by the user’s thumb) and its bizarre mowing cartridge holding magazine thing. The type of cartridges that the pistol would have used is not known, nor does the patent mention it. It is not known if McClean ever made any of these pistols.
