A monarch in the makings of the old Sassanian emperors and spurred by the imperishable will of Caesarian ambition, Sahanshah Adud Al Dawlah Khusraw was one of the greatest warlords of Persia, restoring much order and equilibrium after the failure of the Abbasid Caliphs. Ever victorious was this ruler of the Buyids, crushing many of the other rival warlords of the Persian Intermezzo, destroying the roaming warbands of Turkic warchiefs, subduing the last of the recalcitrant Abna nobility families, and finally reducing the weak Abbasid Caliph to a mere figurehead, thereby ruling the greater part of the Islamic empire in all but name. Vast and opulent was his imperium, many either offering tribute or hammered to vassalage, and the arts and many elegance that made the lands of crescent greater than other, flourished under his firm yet guiding hand.
In a way, he's similar to that of Emperor Taizong of the Tang and Daimyo Motonari Mori, victorious and blessed with the sovereignty of great will and nobility, yet not above using necessary evil to pursue the greater good.
TLDR: Yet another IRL anime protagonist, but in a more heroic, 'I will do what I must, but I shan't lose my soul' kind of vibe. Yep. I'm also fan boying over him.
PS: Yeah. I made him more elegant than most other characters since from what I can discern, Persian monarchs of yore tend to be otherworldly in their elegance and bearing, but also unapologetically sassy and the subtlety of their sarcasm is something else.
