肖李,肖李,肖李(不可逆)。
Some interesting things:
【1】A small table near the piano in Chopin's Paris apartment is simply furnished, with only a portrait of Franz Liszt.
【2】Chopin was perfectly capable of playing his 12 exercises in a row when he was healthy, something that Liszt simply could not do.
E. Borzęcka-Hofmanowa recalled thus: ‘one day Chopin sat down at the piano and played all twelve études in a row’.
However, playing this piece (Tannhäuser Overture, 15 minutes) put so much pressure on him(Liszt) that he had to stop (and rest) for a while near the end.
【3】From a Liszt's letter in 1838: “Chopin, whom I saw this morning, loves me tenderly and exclusively. I was extremely delighted to here him speak as he did.”
【4】From a Chopin's letter in 1837: bring me that Hungarian(Liszt) by force.
I see another version is: Come Yourself and at all costs bring me the Hungarian [Liszt] this evening.
【5】One day, Chopin was invited to play some of his latest works at a party, and Liszt joined the request. But when Chopin sat down at the piano, he noticed that it was missing its pedals, and the hostess then remembered that the pedals had been sent for repair and had not yet been retrieved. Liszt smiled and said that he would install the pedals himself, and then he got under the piano and knelt there while Chopin played, perfectly replacing the pedals' function.
【6】From a Chopin's letter: He(Liszt) is a touchy Hungarian and ready to think — as I said the manuscript was not to be given up without the money — ready to think that I don’t trust him, or something of that sort.
【7】About Chopin:
According to extensive evidence Chopin was deeply sensitive to women's charm. If one was to believe George Sand, "his soul, tender and sensitive to all beauty, to each charm and each smile, was incredibly easily impressed", and "his heart was full of fire and tenderness to three beauties in the course of one evening"14 . As reported by Emilia Borzęcka-Hoffmann "almost every evening he was impressed by some beautiful eyes" (1900). Solange Clésinger remembered him to be "as tender and passionate as his music" (1895). Also H. Berlioz and W. von Lenz had a similar picture of him. True, there was a time when - according to Antoni Orłowski's view expressed in a letter to his parents in Poland - "Chopin charmed all French women and made all Frenchmen jealous"15 but there was not a shred of womanizing in it. In the opinion of Franz Liszt, Chopin was able to sublimate sensual impressions and transform them into the sphere of the ideal.
