Five NPC kid gang from my current game campaign, rescued from the notorius Outpost 767.
From Left to Right:
Waylon – average sized redhead Human boy, age 10. Rogue and computer skills. Beckett’s biological younger brother. Kinda ADD, always tries too hard, and often gives up if it’s too hard or he gets bored.
Marzen – young hybrid humanoid boy, age 11. Sneak thief, pickpocket, misdirectionist, escape artist. Focused on surviving and keeping his gang “family” alive.
Beckett – (Becky, Becks, Becka), Bossy boots tomboy, age 12. Skinny redhead Human girl, age 12. She was second in command of the little gang under the bully, Garagh, but she hated him and feared him for his abuse. She's happy he's dead. Acts tough, but actually cares about her “family”. “Jill of all trades”. A knife fighter with a chip on her shoulder.
Higgy – Short, chubby shaggy Bampu/Mantaidan boy, age 6 (Bampu & Mantaidan age quicker than humans). A mechanical savant – jury-rig specialist. Loves to eat.
Sanna – short, young sneaky Blakhai girl, age 9. Rogue skills, untrained mystic aptitude. Good singer, but very dark and creepy.
Outpost 767 - an old asteroid mining base, now used by smugglers to meet and fence goods. People do live there... population of 50,000 - 100,000, living on the fringes.
Game exerpts:
Meanwhile, some 44 million miles away due to current orbital alignment, Outpost 767 drifts lazily though the Dendrix Prime asteroid belt. The outpost is an old asteroid mining base, now used by smugglers to meet and fence goods. If ever the description "wretched hive of scum and villainy" applied, it describes Outpost 767. Sometimes called “The Freebooter’s Starbase”, the outpost is used by smugglers, pirates, black marketers, and other miscreants for a wide variety of activities that carry stiff penalties if caught on SB25, or by the DJringlin Clans. Typically, 50 to 100 thousand populate Outpost 767, eking out their own survival by any means they can, amidst the old mining shafts and chambers.
The small vessel slips smoothly through the retention field and into the interior atmosphere of Outpost 767. The main (only) landing/berthing/docking area is a cavern of the natural stone of the asteroid, about a mile long, interspersed with a collection of old docks and moorings of the various beings who have come and gone in the six hundred years since the DJringlin first started mining operations in the Dendrix Belt. Much of the original DJringlin architecture can still be seen, rimming the cavern like ribs of some colossal beast, long dead. Many vessels of questionable origin and levels of upkeep are seen berthed throughout. Ahead, there is a level area where a good number of vessels sit parked directly on the stone.
