"LZ-1, the Falcon has landed." -21st December, 2015
Continuing my trend of doing something different for January...and I'm very much enjoying it....
So, outside of my usual theme of underwater images, one thing I absolutely love, is rocketry. I might not know too much history behind it all, but I bloody love it. So I wanted to illustrate a rocket, could have gone with the iconic Saturn V, or perhaps a workhorse like the Soyuz...But I wanted to illustrate the rocket that helped reignite (haha...because the Falcon 9 Merlin 1D engine can be reignited) my love for rockets...and while it wasn't EXACTLY a Falcon 9, it was SpaceX's larger Falcon Heavy launch in 2018...watching those two side boosters land simultaneously made me realize just how much I had missed...and ever since, I've kept a close eye on the current rockets and their programs. ULA's Vulcan, SpaceX's Starship, Blue Origin's Dildo Rocket, New Glenn, now is an exciting time to be a fan of space travel...and I can only imagine what the future of space travel will be like in 30 years time...
Wow, that was a bit more serious than my usual descriptions...
