The Cook Class Transport/Cook Class Colonization Vessel is designed to operate on bodies of water on a planet, and moving through the atmosphere and between planets in a star system. It has a massive internal space for the Standard Cargo Pods (original and type II). When the class is produced as a colonization vessel, most of the internal space is transformed into residential space and life support for the people it will carry across the galaxy. The runway, landing pads, and elevators on the top deck are standard, but tend not to be used in the transport specification.
Design notes: my goal was something that was easy to draw, and shaped so that it is able to ply the ocean. The name comes from Captain Cook.
The Boston Bar Class Transport Rig is the interstellar "legs" of the Cook class. A pair of Cook Class ships dock to the top and bottom of the rig, and it moves them between star systems.
Design notes: I'm not sure if there was a specific inspiration of this, other than the goals of making an easily drawn background element that recycles a lot of the common spaceship parts in-universe.
The Spirit Bear Aerospace Transport is the aerospace optimized successor to the Transport Escort Ship. While it is superior to the Juan De Fuca Class in the atmosphere, the Juan De Fuca Class was much more successful due to its general purposefulness and customizability. The Spirit Bear is a powerful anti-ground attack aircraft in its own right—with a large twin-Gatling beam gun turret in the nose—and the large anti-ship beam gun turret on the top gives it plenty of punch against other spaceships. The Spirit Bear is mainly used within atmosphere and for transport within a star system, despite it having the capabilities for limited, slow interstellar flight, just like the Cook Class.
Design notes: aside from the goal of making a more flight worthy and "aircraft-like" version of the Transport Escort Ship (and retaining some of the design greebles in it), I was specifically inspired by the Tupolev Tu-95. The top gun turret was inspired by the Antonov An-225, and was originally intended to be a hardpoint for mounting additional equipment.
