rally2727The BMW R 1200 GS is a motorcycle developed by BMW. The travel-enduro was presented on October 3, 2012 at the Intermot two-wheeler fair in Cologne. Sales started on March 2, 2013. Like all models in the R series of the time, the motorcycle is powered by a 1,170cm³ boxer engine and is finally assembled at the BMW plant in Berlin. The model designation GS means Gelände/Straße (terrain/road in German), and the internal factory code of this generation is K50.
