Maki Harukawa was raised at an orphanage with shady connections and eventually was forced to become cold blooded assassin if she wanted the other kids at the orphanage to be able to keep on living.
Maki endured inhuman training and tortures to become the 'Ultimate Assassin' but if she wanted her orphanage to keep receiving funds which sustained the childs there, she had no choice but to accept and join the assassin cult or else, other member of her orphanage would have to endure all the pain, her closest friend, to be precise.
With all this in mind, Maki joined without hesitation and killing people became her job. All she could do was cry when she was alone and hope nobody noticed up until she didn't have one single tear left in her. Her heart had closed after killing so many people, many of them, innocent people.
With only assassination on her mind, she quickly got engulfed and crossed the point of no return, she'd never be able to leave the cult nor live a normal life, instead, her whole life would be dedicated to be the cult's killing machine in exchange for the funds for her beloved orphanage, killing the targets assigned to her one by one without a proper explanation.
That would be Maki's life from that point onwards.
