Sasuke and Naruto dated when they were genin and Sasuke left to join Orochimaru after the last night sleeping with Naruto. Naruto leaves with Jiraiya anf learns he's pregnant on the journey, and instead of returning to Konoha they go to Suna and the only ones to know are Jiraiya, Tsunade and Shikamaru. In between 13 years Sasuke killed Orochimaru, returned to Konoha with Itachi ((he learned the truth)) and became a sensei. Sasuke finds the identity of his child and the new looking Naruto during the chunin exams, he feels jealous of the close relationship Naruto and gaara have and wants to be with his beloved and child.
