Artraccoon USAThe SRV-100 is common vehicle used by various spaceborne emergency services for short range work. They are often found where large amounts of space activity occurs, like in this space around a gas giant where prospecting, mining, and mobile factory operations can be found.
The SRV-100 has a standard crew of five, and a passenger capacity for up to fifteen. The craft is fitted with multiple manipulators, a stern airlock for EVA teams and robots, and small extendable docking collar on top. The bottom section houses part of the main propulsion system, and the twin reverse thrusters, and spare propellant canisters hang from the sides. Such craft operate from a larger support ship or station, that carries landing capable craft as well.
Design notes: This started out as a very rough BiC pen sketch and I did a Photoshop overpaint of that drawing, something new for me. There were several "happy accidents" doing this piece that helped give the impression of complex structure and wear. Funny enough, and purely by accident the pilot's cab came out looking like the misplaced front end of a VW mini-bus.
