AKB48: Minegishi Minami - Warlord

In October 2005 Minami Minegishi joined AKB48 becoming one of the members of the original Team A. On August 23, 2009 during the 2009 Team Shuffle transferred to Team K. She was then transferred to Team B on August 24, 2012 during Tokyo Dome Team Shuffle. Following a scandal she was involved in, on February 1, 2013 Minami was demoted to Kenkyuusei. But after showing her worthiness she was promoted to Team 4 on August 24, 2013 at the Tokyo Dome Concert. On March 26, 2015 during the AKB48 Spring Shuffle 2015, she was transferred back to and named Captain of Team K. She is also a member of the sub-unit No Sleeves, also known as no3b and Persona.

Miichan has been a member of AKB48 since it's creation. She is one of the pioneer members who experienced the lean years of empty theaters and then the meteoric rise in popularity of AKB48. She has seen the literal growth of the group with additions of new members, new teams, new groups and even new groups in other countries. Miichan has participated countless performances, songs and concerts. She has performed in front of millions and she has become one of the most recognized members of AKB48. AKB48 itself is now one of the most popular and powerful entertainment organizations in Japan and possibly the world. But over these 10 years Miichan has also experienced a lot of heartbreak. The pain of AKB48's early struggles and near failure. Confusing management decisions. The inevitable graduations of friends. Controversies and scandals. Miichan herself was involved in one of the most devastating scandals and controversies in AKB48's history, one that almost ruined the entire group. But Miichan loved AKB48 so much she willingly accepted the punishment of demotion. With her will and drive Miichan proved herself worthy, she was again promoted and placed in the reformed Team 4. Still AKB48 continued to evolve and grow. Iconic members, many of whom were Miihcan's closest friends left the group. New leaders were needed. Veteran members were tasked with leading the young members to a bright future for AKB48. Miichan was one of those chosen to be one of those new leaders, and was named Captain of the legendary Team K. From October 2005 through to today Minami Minegishi has grown into a true leader of AKB48. Over 10 years of struggle, success, pain and fame, she matured from an unpolished adolescent into a true master of her craft and beloved member and leader of AKB48. If one looks at AKB48 as an entertainment empire or a dynasty, Minami Minegishi is it's greatest Warlord.
