Poland (ポーランド)/Feliks Łukasiewicz (フェリクス・ウカシェヴィチ) as a kosynier (scytheman).
The kosynierzy (scythemen)were a historical polish type of an infantry soldier armed with a distinctive war-scythe, a scythe (大鎌) for farming adapted and modified for combat.
They developed from peasants drafted into the polish army. In difference to a peasant's scythe, their war-scythe's curved blade stood upright to the pole. Like the uhlans (pl. Ułani (ウーラン); mounted light lancers), the Kosynierzy were a characteristic unit of the polish army.
The Kosynierzy had their first notable and popular engagments in the Kościuszko Uprising against Russia and Prussia in 1794年. They participated in the many of Poland's uprising for freedom and thus became a national symbol, especially as peasants.
They were maintained even into the 20th century (20世紀).
Here, Poland/Feliks Łukasiewicz wears a uniform of a Kosynierzy of 1830年.
The special type of his square, four-pointed headwear is called rogatywka and is as well characteristic for Poland.
