Grell was asked by a Tumblr User: "Grell, I have always wondered something. Though it may seem silly and simple, forgive me it has haunted me to this very day. In a sense you killed the only person who loved you, openly at least... I wonder, if it ever sunk in? Do you ever miss the Madam who was so fond of you? Or am I really just a simple woman to you? Judge me if you must, in death I wonder such things..."
Grell replied: Grell gives a saddened smile. “Of course I miss you. I am not so foolish as to disregard you entirely. You are as dear to me now as you were then; just because I was angry at you, and I killed you, doesn’t change what is in my heart.” He sighs, “You had upset me, and you sealed your fate when you refused to kill that little brat. Do you realize what would have happened to you had I allowed you to live?! Your mind had slipped away from sanity. You would have rotted away in some filthy mortal prison, or worse yet an insane asylum. My beautiful Madame, how could I ever let that happen to you? I did what needed to be done. With my kiss of death I freed you from your mortal chains, from the fate I could not bear to allow to happen. I loved you so. And I will always carry you in my heart.”
