DrPuffinPhD"Hey everyone! It's me, Morgan! Happy new year! I hope you all had a great holiday season. I sure did! You saw the images of me and Mom, didn't you? She loved the necklace I got her! The trip to the market to buy it was seriously nerve-wracking, but totally worth it. Mom gave me some new clothes, and some gift cards for Steam, and some books. Hehe, she always gets me books. And I read them, too... well, some of them, at least.
Oh, and Mom's old girlfriend, Reina, was in town for the holidays. Reina's awesome! She's from Osaka, and she teaches law at one of the universities there. How cool is that? Fun fact: she and Mom dated in college, before Mom met my Dad. Yep, that's right -- Mom's bi. Reina is so elegant and beautiful (that's her in the last image). She looks like she could be Mom's sister, doesn't she? Well, you know, if Mom's sister was Japanese.
And, you'll never believe this, but Reina gave me this amazing furisode! Isn't it beautiful? And it's purple! And it's got this handy little hole at the back for my tail to stick out. You'd be surprised how hard it can be to find clothes that work with a tail. Hey, I told you before, being a floofy girl isn't as easy as it looks! But Reina made this one herself. Can you believe it? She makes kimonos in her spare time! How crazy is that? What kind of over-achiever makes kimonos in their spare time? I told you, she's amazing!
What's that? A crush? Pfft! That's crazy! I don't have a crush on her! Geez, it'd be pretty cringe to have a crush on my Mom's ex-girlfriend, wouldn't it? I totally don't have a crush on Reina. Totally. No crush. Not even a little one. Stop looking at me like that!
Hmph! All right, maybe I have a teeny-weeny little crush on her. Maybe. Just a little one. But can you blame me?
Anyway, while she was here, the three of us went to a New Year's festival hosted by the local Japanese cultural centre. It was really cool, but really crowded and noisy. REALLY crowded and REALLY noisy. And my social anxiety got really bad, and I... well, I kinda had a bit of a panic attack. But Mom always knows just what to do in these situations. She and Reina found a quieter space and calmed me down, and made me feel safe, and everything was okay after that. My Mom is the best. I love her more than anything!
Well, that's what's new with me. I gotta say, I really enjoy talking to all of you like this. Well, not 'talking' exactly, 'cause you can't hear me, but... you know what I mean, right?
