某鎮守府で巨大な蟹が水揚げされた。
人類と深海棲艦との戦いが始まってからというもの、漁業はおろか海洋資源調査も学術的な探査もままならない状況の中で、巨大蟹が水揚げされるのも珍しい事だ。
海軍の検疫官と海洋生物学者達がその蟹の正体を調べた結果、タカアシガニと判明した。
大きすぎる見た目に反して味も良く、毒性無し。
まずは某鎮守府の白提督以下、所属の艦娘達が試食（カニパーティー）した後、軍医の診察や検疫官による検体検査等、経過観察で特に異変が見られない事から某鎮守府所属の将兵や学者、水産関係者にマグロ付きで振舞われた。
白提督は鎮守府内で識者や将兵を交えて有り余る蟹肉の有効活用についての検討会を開き、出された意見を参考に蟹を近隣の水産加工施設で処理後、製品にして鎮守府近隣の街の市長に贈呈。
多くの市民から好評を得たそうだ。
A giant crab was landed at a certain naval base.
Since the beginning of the battle between humanity and the deep-sea entities, it has been rare to see not only fishing but also marine resource surveys and academic explorations being carried out. Therefore, the landing of a giant crab is something extraordinary.
After the navy's quarantine officers and marine biologists investigated the identity of the crab, it was determined to be a Japanese spider crab. Despite its enormous appearance, it had good flavor and was non-toxic.
First, the admiral White and the shipgirls from the naval base tasted the crab during a crab party. Following this, a medical examination by naval doctors and sample inspections by quarantine officers revealed no anomalies during the observation period. As a result, the crab was served with tuna to the soldiers, scholars, and fishery personnel affiliated with the naval base.
Admiral White then held a meeting with experts and soldiers in the naval base to discuss effective utilization of the surplus crab meat. Based on the opinions gathered, the crab was processed at a nearby seafood processing facility and presented as products to the mayor of a neighboring town. It was said to have received high praise from many citizens.
