Polish electric locomotive created in 1964 by Pafawag in Wroclaw (as Pafawag 4E) and HCP in Poznan (as HCP 303E). Production began with the purchase of a license from the British. Despite its similar appearance to the EU06, it was its improved model. In 1964, the production of these locomotives was taken over by Pafawag in Wrocław, which produced them until 1979. In 1983, production was taken over by the HCP plant in Poznań (H. Cegielski Metal Industry Complex), which was produced until 1993. The locomotive gained cult status in Poland due to the fact that more units were produced (483, over 20 times more than EU06), which is why it was present on every Polish route. locomotives such as the two-unit ET41 freight locomotive, the ET22 freight locomotive and the EP08 and EP09 express passenger locomotives were created on its basis. A modified version of the EU07A with an asynchronous motor (with an IGBT VVVF frequency start motor) was also created. Most of the locomotives are still in use in PKP today.
