Polish electric locomotive created in 1955 by German (ex-GDR) LEW Henningsdorf (as LEW E05). It was another locomotive produced by the German (GDR) LEW plant for PKP. Visually, it resembled the previous locomotive produced by LEW - E04 (or EU04), but with minor improvements - among other things, six-axle bogies and two additional traction motors were added (EU04 had only 4 of them). Like its predecessor, it had the same traction motors, converters, compressors. Despite this, these were very failure-prone locomotives - starting resistors often failed, because they did not have additional cooling, like in other locomotives. They were also the first electric locomotives to service freight trains on the Warsaw-Silesia line, although they were intended for mixed traffic. For most of their service, they were stationed in the locomotive shed in Piotrków Trybunalski. In the years 1976-1981, all 34 locomotives were withdrawn. Although most were scrapped, one unit was preserved as an exhibit at the Railway Museum in Warsaw.
