Kino appears to be friendly and cheerful, but this is a façade owing to broken facial muscles- they're actually incredibly cynical, foul-mouthed, and generally just a huge asshole. They have a severe disdain for people able to express themselves genuinely, as they feel sincerity is beyond their grasp due to living behind an ironic pretense for half their life.
Kino is also heavily suicidal- only staying alive because their childhood friend and partner in crime, Audri, guilt-tripped them to stick around long enough to enact her revenge on the society responsible for plundering their homeland. They will often verbally abuse Audri as a way of venting, but can't break away from their obligation to her.
Kino's body is an outdated military model that was stripped of armaments in order to be sold to the civilian market. It used to be far more bulky, but has been iterated and slimmed multiple times to make it more comfortable for everyday use. It is, however, still visibly old compared to contemporary civilian models- given the lack of synthetic skin everywhere except the face, and generally angular design.
