DrPuffinPhDI wasn't planning on releasing this little set until after posting the Prince of Wales and Zara sets I've promised, but today's Pixiv theme of "blue eyes" just seemed too perfect an opportunity to pass up.
As much I love creating images of popular favourites like Atago and Prinz Eugen from Azur Lane, I really love creating images of the neglected or lesser-known characters from my favourite games and anime. You're probably not going to get much lesser-known than iDoll Sun, one of the mass-produced Nikkes from Goddess of Victory: Nikke. She has very little in-game art and only a few voice lines, but I've had a crush on her since I started playing the game. She's not the friendliest -- "I am iDoll Sun. I refuse to answer any questions!" -- but I seem to be attracted to the tsundere types. I'm sure it helps that I think she kind of looks like Nelson from Azur Lane, whom I adore. And the artist ame arare has a sweet and sexy manga featuring iDoll Sun -- almost all of the 36 images of iDoll Sun on danbooru come from there.
I know that, if I'm trying to get as many views and bookmarks as possible, posting images of iDoll Sun is not going to accomplish that. But that's not what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to create and share images that are a little different from what most creators are doing -- images of unfamiliar or unpopular characters, or of popular characters in new settings or situations. I know I'm never going to have thousands of followers and thousands of likes, and that's okay. But, if just a few people can find the same kind of pleasure in viewing these images as I did in creating them -- if just a few people say, as I did when I discovered ame arare's manga, "Oh, wow! I love this girl, it's great to see more fan art of her!" -- then I'm happy.
These images use a wonderful character model by richyrich515 (https://civitai.com/user/richyrich515), who has done models of pretty much every character in the game. I first tried this model a couple of months ago, when I was still brand new to AI art and really had no idea what I was doing, so it didn't turn out very well. I recently came back to it, and was much happier with what I could accomplish. Look for a longer and more intimate set of iDoll Sun after Prince of Wales and Zara!
