Castell VermellI wasn't entirely satisfied with the way the previous version turned out so I decided to give it another try. I had focused on producing a piece that would catch other people's attention, so I prioritized making it very colorful and bright. In that regard I think I produced a fine piece but I recognize it was an attempt at satisfying the masses rather than playing by my own strengths and following my own taste.
I prefer compositions that aim to be simple and elegant, with objects clearly defined by contour lines and limited in number of visible objects, I am also partial towards limited color pallets but with a very high dynamic range, so the emphasis is hinted by the amount of contrast and saturation.
I also take pride in putting on the effort that is needed in order to make the piece as intended, so this time I focused on making the featured outfit as similar to the original design as possible. However, I still kept my previous decision to not include the bib collar, cause I don't really like it. This time I also decided to transform her brooch into an Iron Blood cross as a reference to Peter Strasser's own origins
