"Not really sure if this counts as a Halloween drawing, but it's still got a Ghost... type Pokemon and the gloomy atmosphere is here, so... yeah.
To be honest, I actually wanted to do a different one this time around, especially due the lack of the emotional drawings I have going around. I can still do humorous ones like I usually do, don't worry, I'm just varying stuff. And I just got inspirational here.
Basically, a number of factors went into making this thing:
I was remembering Lilo and Stitch's dynamic between well, Lilo and Nani and how powerful that was than I initially watched, like extremely emotional stuff all around.
Then I thought about the Cubone line (Marowak is another of my absolute favourites of Pokemon as a matter of fact) and then that orphan sibling dynamic just somehow applied in my mind.
You seriously thought I would do the overrun“ Cubone crying out alone in the middle of the desert“ thing? Where are its relatives?? There are only like very few illustrations about that, why???
I actually picked the alolan form here because not only does this design just look sick, there is one pokedex entry that kind of mentions about how their mother's spirit have been transformed into flames, thus this drawing. It's the “while the loved ones may be gone, they still live within our hearts“ way of saying here... or maybe I'm overthinking things.
Plus I had another excuse to draw a tropical setting. I'm not taking complaints about that, sorry.
It may not look as good as I thought it would be, even with filters, but I'm still happy of how it came regardless.
I was originally going to title this “We'll get through this“, since I wanted to add in rain pouring on the plants, adding even more significance to the bone flames... but I couldn't exactly figure this out, soo it's just that. Try to imagine that there is wind breeze.

Went to attach the sketch version as well after realising that it was still sitting in my folder for nearly 2 years.
