Oookay, this one's quick. I had this "Vector rests like a big ole professional" pose that I liked quite a bit and went to colour it in some fashion. And as you expect, got carried away in adding more characters and then the background. At least it's better than having one meal.
Took me a while to pick the exact colours for this since I wanted to get that "made with photoshop on that old computer" aesthetic again after reposting my old works on other sites.
I did try choosing other zones besides Green Hill Zone since people seem to hate that zone apparently (even though it's just as iconic as Super Mario Bros World 1-1, although it s not my favourite), but none of these either fit in or couldn't do them because of story reasons (R.I.P. Palmtree Panic).
Also Madonna is a geologist here. The conversation came in after reposting "Set in before it's hot" on Newgrounds where she was included. I was invested in rebranding her since her initial role was a little too generic (and not particularly fitting for a good reason). I initially wanted to make her Christmas Island's (Sonic's, while possibly no longer acknowledged, birthplace) mayor, but that felt too similar to Pauline. Then nowadays, I was thinking between a tour guide and the geologist/model. I ultimately settled on the latter because of several reasons. She would at least have a bit more of a role in assisting Sonic as well as having a connection to the Chaos Emeralds, since well, jewels are minerals. The one difference is that she does care about both their natural significance and balance in maintaining islands, even insisting that they should be left in their place, which may or may not be inspired by both April O'Neil from TMNT (for the sidekick part) and Princess Daisy's fascination towards dinosaurs from Super Mario Movie (yep, THAT Super Mario Movie, I don't like its writing, not to mention its production hell and how it affected the crew working on it, but without the misleading part, I DO like the atmosphere that was presented, especially the gritty Koopa Square and some little tidbits and do kind of dig the darker interpretation, even if it feels unfitting) but I'm still working on it a bit.
Enjoy as I contemplate about how I contradicted myself about the description being quick.
