After the Germans succeeded in capturing the city of Kamensk, Yuuki as tank commander and platoon 1 commander was given a mission by the 503rd battalion for clearing operations in the village of Kalinovka which was 18km from the city, because there were reports that there were remaining Soviet troops remaining in the village.
