This is a commission.
So she is a kumiho, which is the Korean version of the nine-tailed foxes which if you are like me know better in their Japanese version, the kitsune. Unlike the kitsune, which are mostly mischievous, kumiho are malevolent. But they do can take the form of beautiful women, which is what we aimed to portray here.
I tried to give her the that femme fatale look you see in female villains in anime, with very elegant angular features. Which also are very fox-like (foxy if you will ^^ ).
For the dress, the request was for her to wear a hanbok, the traditional Korean dress. Normally the hanbok is composed of a chima (the skirt/dress) and a jeogori (a sort of jacket). In women the jacket is rather short (above the waistline). Still, traditionally it's a rather modest type of dress, showing very little skin. Very pretty but a challenge to make seducing for a kumiho (kistune are often portrayed wearing their kimono low on the shoulders, so they can show more skin). But in my research I noticed some modern versions of the hanbok worn by actresses and such without the jacket, that works for our seductress here, so we went with that. The rest was choosing a type of model from the many there are and making it from the beautiful embroidered silk materials traditional of nobility in East Asia.
I think it came out pretty decent, I'm happy with the results.
I really like when I can do these kind of design work ^^
