As for the second picture of the Three Houses anniversary I am going to showcase a new colour scheme for Byleth’s zero suit. I published a coloured picture of StarMVenus’ lineart a few months ago where Byleth and Samus were preparing for their dive while wearing their zero suits. You all seem to have loved that picture a lot, as a big fan of zero suits I appreciate your support and it makes me able to continue to make more pictures of them ^^. Here I have done an alternative colour version of that lovely picture with the two mercenaries helping each other getting their gear on for their dive, with different colour schemes. As for Samus I used her Dread colour scheme that I’ve already used for a few pictures, her white and azure blue look unique compared to some of the more colourful and dark ones I’ve done before.
As for the Byleth’s zero suit colour scheme I decided to use darker black alongside purple in order to give it a distinct look. Those colours were chosen because her shorts and corset have darker shade than her normal outfit colours, plus her necklace tie changes it’s colour from pink to purple. I have found those colours changing fascinating as they make her look more mature and refined with her new class, also looks slick with her green hair colour she gains after her transformation. I also decided to colour her mask and air tanks golden as a reference to her golden strips on her enlightened one robe and the golden linen. As a whole I am quite satisfied on how her new zero suit and gear looks like, the darker black makes it resemble old school wetsuit that I see in old spy movies. Those me into the scuba in the first place after all ^^. The purple and golden parts also make it feel more unique and colourful at the same time, fits well with Fire Emblem having colourful outfit designs in general ^^.
Since this is an alternative colouring of a work I’ve already coloured there’s not much to say about the process, figuring out new colour schemes was fun with the amazing lineart that StarMVenus drew for my commission with her. As always I recommend you all to check her gallery out and commission her if you’re interested in more artwork that allowed me to showcase Byleth and Samus in new ways! I am glad to be able to include my favourite yuri Byleth ship with her beloved mercenary companion as part of this anniversary, I look forward to feature this pairing more in the future as well ^^.
