1000 20th Century Chairs: Append

kanon byrnhildr

This is a conceptualized version of Kahimi Karie's song called "One Thousand 20th Century Chairs"

The above passage is a summarized version of some the lyrics
~ on the 29th floor of a building
Looking cos I'm trying not to look down straight down
the 13th arrondissement, sitting by the window thinking how I love this town
I confess that i stole your book of 1000 chairs, tore it up, watched the pages fluttering through the air
How satisfying it feels to tear the 1000 20th century chairs
I'm playing Beck, cos the architect I used to live with never let me dance
When i put on Odelay, i'm lonely, i'm insane, but i'm happy ~

There were two girls that played the piano
The girl in the arrondissement looks out to the town in awe, while the girl on the roof threw her "Best of Barnum" (Eric Barnum) book full of practice sheet music, tears up the pages, and throws it away towards Accordando, the shop where the piano is from. The girl in the arrondissement realizes it was her book, but rather than get angry about her book getting ripped up, she smiles for the first time in years; She had suffered a psychotic break when her childhood home was destroyed in a natural disaster (a reference to the original lyrics) and has been told she needs to play the piano because music can reach deep into your brain where words cannot. She and the other girl hate playing the paino; and in a moment of valor, she takes the chair she plays piano on, smashes it, and throws it out of the window.
Her uncle is an architect and lives with her to make sure she's playing the piano; but in reality, she wants to listen to Odelay (an album by Beck), and now that the Uncle is away; she puts Odelay on the record playeer and dances her heart away. As for the other girl, she disappeared after throwing the book away, as if she appeared in that single moment to unlock the girls' true emotions. The girl in the arrondissement was alone, insane, but she was happy.
