One of my headcanon is that Alastor doesn't sleep at all, so when night's coming he's just staring at the wall (laugh). More seriously, when night's coming, he's cuddling Luci and giving him a lot of affection to make sure he doesn't face a nightmare. At least when he has the mood... When he doesn't have it, he just sing something nice (using his radio or not), or he's waiting for him to calm down.
