CobaltGlacierThe Lost Sirens are ghoulish mermaids. Spirits who used to be warriors of a long forgotten tribe who were once at war against the humans. Now they roam in the undersea ruins that was once a mermaid kingdom, guarding their former home from intruders or collect any treasures they find and bring them to their treasure room, which is very difficult for any living being to find. They'll attack any humans they see in their haunting grounds by either kill them with their weapons or drag onto them down until they drown, and then drag their bodies somewhere where they'll never be found again. Only a handful of humans had encountered the Lost Sirens and lived to tell the tale. They won't attack living merfolks, however, instead they'll hide whenever they felt a merfolk's presents. The reasons of their strange behaviour of hiding from living merfolks is unknown. There is a ghoulish merman that are called Lost Tritons. While the Lost Sirens are dangerous, they can't break the surface, and they have a blind spot to darkness. They can't see anything or anyone that's not in direct light. In other words, darkness is your friend and stay out of the light. While the Lost Sirens can't be killed, they can be knocked out for ten minutes, enough time for anyone to escape.
Summery: Kimi and Hamako are exploring the lost ruins for treasure when they encountered Lost Sirens roaming the ruins. To avoid those ghoulish merfolks, they hide in the dark as Kimi is aware that they can't see what's in the darkness. The two divers wait for the two Lost Sirens to pass so they can continue their search for treasure that's laying around in the ruins. Luckily there are plenty of air pockets and upper floors where there's is no water so the Lost Sirens can't reach to, and it's safe for Kimi and Hamako when they need air.
