Before getting cracked (by herself - this is what happens when you're a mad scientist obsessed with creating "the perfect explosion"), she had access to an ability that allowed her to influence the temperature of objects she was touching; when she was using it it might have happen that her body started producing a thick white smoke that smells like lit matches. It also happened if she got particularly annoyed, which, since she likes two people in the whole world, happened quite often.
