This page contains two different sketches I had done of Hilda from Pokemon Black and White. (Made in November 28, 2023 and April 29, 2024 respectively.)
I've been trying for a while now to start a fan project loosely based on the Unova Pokemon games, but haven't been able to get it off the ground until recently. I'd say it's a mix of dealing with college and already having two other projects I've been working on.
Thankfully, I don't have any specific deadline in mind for this Pokemon related project, and I'm encouraging myself to take it at my own pace while working on those other two things.
As for these sketches, I wanted to combine some iconography of the Pokemon anime with my usual (heavily stylized and cartoony) art style. I sort of picture my take on Hilda as being more of a spunky girl who likes traveling, but has a bit of a silly and/or snarky side. She and her Tepig are close friends, and I'd like to portray that bond.
Hilda will use a Rotom Phone instead of the actual Gen 5 Pokedex in this take on the story, but I decided to keep the X-transceiver because the design was just too iconic.
