Following the Queen's post, it's time for another look at her personal Guard, Fuyu. Specifically regarding her after the Belkan caused disaster in Gebet. Something that will be revealed after the group's time in Belka comes to a close, is that Fuyu is the Queen's adopted daughter. She rarely leaves the Queen's side even when she's off duty. No one on the planet is closer to Nirai than Fuyu. But even so, Fuyu is not immune to being caught in the Queen's schemes.
The Queen had set in motion what would end up being the disaster that wiped out Gebet, by personally manipulating the Belkan leadership. Her goal was to get the Belkans to attempt a large scale teleportation, which she was well aware would fail spectacularly, so she could retrieve a super charged catalyst from the resulting explosion. The Queen had a very lucky break right after setting this plan in motion.
Through Scin, she found Regen. Someone who had previous experience with teleportation, on top of an unheard of blood magic. 2 for 1. This gave her a perfect excuse to send a team to the presumed ground zero of the presumed explosion. The Queen had many Shadows who could have done the job, the issue was she couldn't have a leak. Her plans had to stay secret, or she'd risk being outed as the one behind everything. By involving Regen and Fuyu, she was able to send a small escort team in to back Fuyu up, while she protected Regen during her investigation of the site.
This team was a handful of elite soldiers, but even as a group they were far more expendable than a single one of Aurelia's Shadows. Fuyu received Nirai's direct command to escort Regen and a small infiltration team into Gebet to look for clues. The soldiers were ordered to retrieve any remnants they could, discretely. While Fuyu was focused on helping Regen maintain her sanity, because seeing this kind of devastation threw her right back into Hoffnung, the soldiers located several large chunks of remains from whatever the hell the Belkans were using to make this teleportation happen, and collected them for the Queen to study personally.
Rena's group will soon arrive thanks to Hres giving them a ride, and Fuyu will send the soldiers back so she can continue on with Regen and go further into Belka for answers on what happened here. Fuyu, without a single hint of anything being off, did exactly what Nirai needed her to do. The soldiers were ported to Aurelia, dropped off what they collected, and returned to their unit. A month later, they were all dead.
Something interesting that gets brought up by Regen inside Belka, is that the Queen knew more than she let on about the situation. That's why she sent Regen. She knew it was teleportation related. Scin and Hrim are quick to jump on this, but they're used to Nirai being a few steps ahead on things. It's not a shock. Fuyu has her concerns, but would never question the Queen. How this story ends, is for another time.
Enjoy Fuyu. Based off Crimson Abyss from PGR. Alpha is life.
