Sir Jean de Beaumanoir

DrawmanDude

Sir Jean de Beaumanoir seated atop his Dubreuillosaurus-steed Tencendur. He bears the flag of the Franco-Bretons heading into the bout with the forces of the advantageous interloper and scoundrel Robert Penbrook in the upcoming Combat of the Thirty, called in the Breton tongue, Stourm ann Tregont.

-----

The second part of this mini-series. Jean de Beaumanoir is based on the same leader of the Blois-allied French & Breton force, with whom he shares his name. The real Beaumanoir was captain of Josselin (Josilin in Breton), located near the Monfortist-controlled town of Ploërmel/Ploermael. The challenge against him by Bemborough was arranged mid-way between the two settlements.

I decided to make Tencendur a smaller Allosauroid to give Jean a speed advantage. He was originally intended to be a sized-up Erectopus, but I opted to choose a more appropriately-sized dino (and perhaps one less unfortunately-named).

Jean here has come prepared for a mere joust, reflecting the original intent of Bemborough's one-on-one challenge. Maybe it is a miscommunication, maybe it is a trick set up by the Montfortist faction. Who knows?
