Shiroko on and off function

The first chapter of the Blue Archive anime had a scene that caught my attention, and it is none other than when Shiroko wakes up and her halo appears. That left me with a few doubts, do all students have their halo disappear when they sleep? And if so, does Hoshino usually pretend when we see her sleeping?
