A/N: I really struggled to figure out what martial art I would choose for Taker. I've seen some comments and suggestions guessing what it could be. Taekwondo or kickboxing seems obvious because he is known to kick in the actual game. Yet, his stature is so beefy that he might also be a wrestler. Eventually, I thought to myself, "This is the motherfudging HELLTAKER!" Despite being a human, he is no ordinary human! He is an extraordinary human who survived Hell itself and courted a harem of demons! Therefore, he deserves something extraordinary and awesome!
So what did I assign him? None other than Ninjutsu. Real and authentic Ninjutsu of the old days. The brutal trainings and techniques of Ninjutsu back then were so spectacular that in many ways, ninjas/shinobi might as well possess real superpowers.
Another inspiration for this choice is Batman, who has some parallels to Helltaker in that both are human beings without superpowers, yet possess superpower-like abilities and skills. And given that the Batman also utilizes some Ninjutsu, the more valid the choice is.
As for how Taker ended up training Ninjutsu? Well, after watching the movie The Last Samurai, that was the cherry on the top ;).
Anyways, that wraps up the Martial Demons series! I hope you guys enjoyed seeing Taker and his demon harem practicing their fighting moves! It was a very fun and creative experience for me as well. Just out of curiosity, if you disagree with these choices, what martial arts would you have chosen for each character? I'm really curious what everyone else comes up with.
