I know this is a hard day for a lot of people, being constantly reminded about relationships, failed or never fulfilled, maybe a friendship that was lost years ago, but, it doesn't have to be like that, take advantage of this day, grab your cellphone, open your Discord, Whats, Steam, Facebook, Twitter, whatever you used to use to call your friends and do it one more time.
You might start thinking on excuses; "(S)He wouldn't wanto to talk to me again.", "Am I bothering Him/Her?", "(S)He surely hates me.", "I'm a boring person", "They must be too busy", "I'll doit tomorrow, today is too cliche to do it", etc, DOESN'T MATTER! This is all in your head! You were once friends for a reason! At least send them a greeting message. And who knows, maybe they needed or have been waiting for that message too.
And, You know what? If (S)He is actually bored, tired or just doesn't want to hear from you, WHO CARES?! You did nothing wrong by reaching out to them! At least now you know for sure that that the bridge has collapsed, but you did your best to keep it UP! So, keep reinforcing those pillars.
I've done this, this is in part a message to myself, to call my old friends, so far, I've done it with a few, and you know what? they answered! Most of them responded positively, IT FEELS GREAT! Which is why I'm telling you to do it. All those excuses, I know all of them cause I told myself each one of those. But again, these were all in my head.
