Delibird is an Ice/Flying type Pokemon introduced in Generation 2 via Pokemon Silver as its debut game where it can first be encountered when the player is inside the Icy Cave where it houses rare Ice-type Pokemon. Delibird is clearly based on a penguin whose colour choices matches that of the Christmas figure, Santa Claus who is known to bring presents to well behaved children during the evening and overnight hours on Christmas Eve. Delibird's trademark move is Present which more likely to deal damage with base power between 40-120 and it also has the chance to restore the Pokemon's HP by 1/4 of their maximum health.
Since Generation 3, Delibird had two default Abilities being Hustle, which powers up physical moves but lowers accuracy and Insomnia which prevents it from falling asleep and its Hidden Ability from Generation 5 which is Vital Spirit whose effect to identical to Insomnia. Delibird has a Paradox futuristic counterpart in the form of "Iron Bundle" obtainable in Pokemon Violet with a type combination of Water/Ice which may be a call back to the Gold and Silver Spaceworld demo shown in 1997 where a protoform version of Delibird was a Water/Ice type but ended up as an Ice/Flying in the final release of the game.
To me, Delibird make an excellent support character in the Super Smash Bros franchise as a Pokeball Pokemon using Present to either deal damage or heal them depending on the chances.
