MrPassengerA follow-up to my other piece involving a Manta. This is also from the same show; I did this piece for me instead because it's my personal favorite monster type and other favorite character aside from Alita (you can have two favorite characters of equal standing, it's fine.) I might end up printing this and posting it to the wall in my room.
I really like the Megatank not just cause it's a menacing sort of "heavy unit" but also cause it's just very conceptually weird. A lot of XANA's other monsters were stuff like "this monster is a ground fodder unit that fires lasers. This monster is that same version but it can fly. Here's the really tall version of the ground fodder."
Meanwhile, the Megatank is just "The Megatank." If it doesn't get you by literally rolling over you like an evil giant bowling ball, it opens up and casts a wall of light attack on a vertical axis. Plus, the metallic exterior contrasted with what looks like organic insides is such a weird juxtaposition that they don't really address in the show; it's just sort of another element that makes them intimidating.
