GameArtist1993Orie Ballardiae is a character who made her debut in the very first release of the Under Night In-Birth franchise 10 years ago in arcade systems as one of the ten playable fighters accessible since its first released. She is a representative of a now female-exclusive organisation called the Licht Kreis given the title of being the Fifth Executor, she role as a Licht Kreis member upon arriving in Japan as sent by Zenith to investigate Amnesia's activities, while at the same time she'd also need to study in the same school the series protagonist Hyde attends to. Ten years ago, Orie's parents were killed by mysterious creatures who go by the name "Void", one was them was capable of speaking human language until Orie herself was rescued by a Licht Kreis member who then brought her to an orphancy (a residential institution dedicated to providing care to children who can't be taken care by their biological parents, in Orie's case her parents), it's sad to see her parents get killed by these horrid creatures.
There is good news, Orie met new friends who were orphans too, like Mika etc. Orie decided to form an Execution Team and after the creation, the team went and defeating as many voids as much as they can. Orie also hoped one day to find the Void capable of talking human language and being him to justice. In Arcade Mode while playing as Orie, her final boss is a Void named "Merkava", meaning that HE was the one talking in human language and murdering her parents.
Orie wields a rapier called the Guardian of Law and Order, the Ruler. It's made with metal which was purified with holy water strengthened by holy magic. Orie's EXS Ability is called "Thanatos" which provides her the ability to harness holy power, give it a shape and materialize "Thanatos" like a avatar.
Why should Orie be in Smash Bros?
Just this week, an new entry of the Under Night In-Birth had just been announced, I knew I wanted to draw another Under Night In-Birth. Orie was one of those candidates from said franchise that came to mind who am I going to draw next. Thanks to Twitter, my was mind up so Orie is the next candidate for this year's Future Smashers project. When I first experienced Orie Ballardiae, she'd reminded me of Lucina so I want to make this right of the bat when I get the chance and that was fulfilled. I was imagining how the Smash Bros community would react if Orie WAS in Smash Bros then they'll just whine that she's just another Fire Emblem character when in reality she's from the Under Night In-Birth franchise. Plus Ridley can serve as a homage to Merkava as the two characters are very tall characters with the ability to fly, breath fire and have good reach while attacking and he can even be Orie's final opponent of her Classic Mode Route. Orie can appear in multiple capacities beside appearing as a fighter, like appearing as costume for Mii Swordfighters as an example of this.
