Petrus92Back to drawing more modern LAMA gear, this time with a character from a series that is close to my heart. As you all know I am a huge Fire Emblem fan, all of those Fire Emblem characters are proof of that. The game that helped me to get into the series and turn based strategy in general was Advance Wars, arguably one of the best GBA games. That game was full of colourful characters with easy to learn, difficult to master, gameplay that got me hooked from the very beginning. Initially I loved both Advance Wars and Fire Emblem equally since they focused on different things; Advance Wars was more into shorter gaming sessions with tighter strategies whereas Fire Emblem offered long spanning campaigns. Eventually Advance Wars didn’t have much clue where to evolve as a series as Dual Strike and Dark Conflict didn’t click well with most of the fans, myself included. As such the series went into a long hiatus that only ended this year with Re-boot camp. I am so glad that the series got some love after all of these years of being moribund. To showcase my love of the series I decided to draw Sami scuba diving for this picture, she is a good CO with capture bonuses. Those really help in the building up economy or snipping important bases from the enemy. Plus she is voiced by the same voice actress as Byleth in the remaster, another reason why she’s the best girl ^^
Drawing process was similar to the previous modern LAMA pictures, not going to repeat myself here. For her zero suit I chose the Orange Star symbol since that is Sami’s faction in that game. Also provided the main colour for her being orange, couldn’t have picked really anything else. Didn’t bother to add background this, instead decided to have Sami in her gear as the sole focus of the picture. Hopefully the best CO girl is having a nice leisure dive, must be a nice change of pace compared to her military diving missions ^^
