If I used one of the discarded ssj3 concepts on my ssj4 created by Goku then why not use the other look on Vegeta?
Super saiyan V is an ssj form that strikes a balance between the pure super saiyan path followed by Goku in the ssj4 of my story (derived from ssj3) and the primal power of the saiyans generated by the Oozaru x ssj that generates the Hitozaru forms (basically like the ssj4 GT).
And please, I know that there is Ego in DB Super, this has nothing to do with that weird purple form, unfortunately Vegeta's hair shape doesn't allow for a big variation even if I increased the volume.
