Helios and Ophelia

Helios and Ophelia are two Greek children in the 1810's, during the period when the country was under Ottoman Rule. They've earned a reputation in the village of Anthohori for being a pair of cheeky troublemakers.

Their antics often get the attention of the local Agha who mistreats his Greek subjects and strips them of their money. When faced by the Agha's goons, Helios and Ophelia always manage to escape from their clutches... at the expense of losing their undergarments. The locals however see these two as a relief from their poverty as well as an inspiration for hope and eventual freedom from the Ottoman yoke.

Helios' parents live in the mountains with his mother being a bread maker while his father is a klepht (freedom fighter/bandit). Ophelia's parents come from a relatively wealthy family near Tripolitsa. Her mother is a textiles worker while her father works as a local official who pretends to be a Turk while hiding his Greek Orthodox identity.

Helios and Ophelia are quite an adventurous and cheeky duo and their antics, which may become bottomless at times, are both charming and funny (except for the Turks and the Agha).
