It was back breaking work, and they took turns being the one that pushed the new dirt into the hole under the wall, and the one that had to carry the dirt from the pile to the hole. They had been at this for hours at this point, and they were both exhausted and drenched in sweat, but the guards wouldn't let them back in until the hole was filled. They took punishments seriously, and since every woman on the same block got punished as a whole, they would seriously have a word to say when Elana got back and they had some time alone with her.
