Canon Situation: Little Ganesha approaches his father, after dutifully performing his guard duty. Little Ganesha has ensured no one would disturb his father, Lord Shiva, while he was in deep meditation. Shiva is very pleased with his steadfast son and rewards him with a boon -- which is coupled with a head-pat and a silent nod of approval and parental pride.
