“I wonder if its brains are still in there," Nala postured excitedly. She followed Simba towards the entrance of the skull's hollow cavern, eager for all sorts of grossness. Arriving at the Elephant Graveyard and ditching Zazu, the two lion cubs fancied themselves as daring adventurers like King Mufasa himself. Simba especially wanted to show everybody that he could be just like his father if not even more amazing. He especially imagined himself saving Nala from peril be it from a fall or a nasty character trying to eat them.
"Only one way to find out," Nala heard her best friend declare before she felt something scaly slither around her hips. The tendril quickly snaked around her belly and chest with a strong grip. The cub only just looked down in her concerned confusion when it yanked her backwards away from Simba. The lion prince, ignorant to her plight, trotted on into the skull...
"Sim-URK!" Nala attempted to cry out when the tail looped around her neck twice and slowly squeezed tighter by the second.
"Nala?" Simba said curiously. He looked back to find that his best friend wasn't behind him. "Heh, getting cold paws, aren't we?" he sneered cheekily while turning around to leave the skull. "Always knew you were a girl at heart-"
Simba's playful cockiness morphed into fearful shock as he gasped and looked up. What seemed to be the tail of a large snake had coiled Nala up by the chest. He ran out around to find that two smaller coils were squeezing her throat and heard her wheeze out his name.
"...Sim... ba..."
The look in her eye was ghastly with her teeth gritted from the pain while her pupils had shrunk in terror. Her legs stuck out of the coily cocoon and fidgeted about as if trying to wiggle free. The sight alone was too much to take in for Simba but he knew that his best friend needed his rescue. But... this was far more than what he had hoped for.
"Well?" a voice hissed, sending shivers down Simba's spine. "Are you going ssssave her?"
Simba swung to his right to find the perpetrator: the head of a large python with a cheeky smirk and such... pretty... eyes. Each one produced a series of glowing rings that seemed to sooth Simba's frantic state of mind by the second the more he looked into them. His mouth went slack-jaw in a mix of awe and dread while his eyes flooded with a mirror of the radiant rainbow. He couldn't looked away. Or... he didn't want to look away? He knew what was happening to him yet... couldn't stop it happening?
"My coilssss tighten their grip around her by the sssssecond, lion cub," Kaa smugly gloated to his subdued Simba. "I esssstimate sssshe hassss but a minute left before it... becomes more than sssshe can bare." He made sure his trance allowed the prince to fidget about, trapped in his invisible grasp. "More than enough time for you to pouncccce and make me losssse focussss."
