Joe a Student of Paldea Academy at the age 16 was sent away too "Study in Galar" was one of the 375 students were either drop out or expelled due to the event from 1 in a half years ago of that scandal...
Before the whole Team Star Buster was formed...a incident occur at Joe's disappearance, no one knew what became of him...that until he wasn't in his Timeline..he was sent to the past by unknown means..how that happen nobody knows even his friends or family have no idea where he is now or knew of what was happening during that time or even knew about the scandal...
Dawn a Champion level Trainer of Sinnoh...now at the age of 15 was now retired from a 5 years with Pokémon League Association leaving yet again vacant for a new Champion of Sinnoh...in most likelihood they had Cynthia to put her back as the Champion again for temporary until a new generation of Trainers that can hold a mantle like Dawn in the past.
Now Dawn is enjoying her vacation time in Alola region and traveling the world since she is quite famous in the Battle Curcuit and Pokémon Contest alike..Though that will change since that day when she dissappear like she vanish from thin air..this was due too intervention of Arceus itself...which lead to the Timeline being changed....all of this caused by Her and Joe...
And the upbringing of Hisuian Pokémon coming into being in the modern times....meaning they survived thanks too the Legendary Duo as the Miltia Man (Joe) and Shadow Maiden (Dawn) of Hisui Region....though there name were hidden through history there nicknames however made it to the history books how they save Hisui Region from a great disaster thanks to them and comrades..
This is just a Flashback during the "Pokémon Legend Arceus" Incident...at The time Joe was a Security Corp for Team Galaxy while Dawn was a Survey Corp for Team Galaxy...through thier journey they had alot of ups and down moment...but they manage to complete what they were set out to do...in there final quest to met Arcues and both of them challenged by the Entity itself...Joe and Dawn overcome that Challenge against Arceus....They were granted a wish....Joe and Dawn wanted to go back to thier timeline..they had family and friends to go too..Arceus told them if they go back....they know the cost of that the timeline itself has changed abit but they will be dropped off where they were left off seeing that Joe and Dawn were in Alola at time...after that Dawn and Joe said there goodbye to Team Galaxy Corp and the people Jubilife Village they good memories here and the home they stayed at...sadly they can't bring all the pokemon they capture with them so they stayed behind with the village only a few went with Dawn and Joe...
And after that Joe and Dawn vanish and sent back to there Timeline..where they are now it is unknown..but the 2 stayed together since then.
(Why Joe was in Alola region at the time because he had a family there he was staying at for awhile)
