ThatGuyWithHatAttempt to draw more or less complicated scenery. Lines are simple, but I struggled with colouring and adding shadows. And finally I know how to draw white clouds. Actually third picture is my attempt to draw clouds with using of office corrector, but they are looking like mountains on photos. And it's quiet... Fine failure?
All pictures are from same idea of distant human colony that I explaind in description of previous post.
1. Terrace city - Only habitable places on The Failure are mountainous regions. Atmospheric pressure there is close to pressure on the Earth. Altitudinal zonality also providing temperate climate. Lowlands are uninhabitable due to adiabatic heating (up to 80°C at the equator) and high (1,5-2 atmosphere) pressure.
2. Mountainous Industry - This planet is rich of metals but lacks any kind of fossil fuels and complex organic materials. Organic chemistry requires a lot of stages to synthesize of organic materials, hopefully, there is a lot of carbon and carbonates for that. But largest carbonates deposites are located in adiabatic lowlands. Rail transport is the most important, it connects almost all the settlements, industry and resource deposits of the planet. Some railroads are rack railways, due to high inclinations of railway track.
3. On the orbit of the Failure - In fact, the Failure is double planet. It is a binary satellite system where both objects are planets. The Failure is bigger planet with mass of 0,87 mass of Earth and the Counterpart is smaller panet with mass of 0,38 mass of Earth. Both planets have an atmosphere, atmospheric pressure at sea level on the Failure is ~1,9-2,1 atmosphres, when on Counterpart it's about 0,6-0,8 atmospheres at datum level. The failure has stable hydrosphere in polar and tropical regions, when the Counterpart-planet lacks seas or big lakes, there is mostly seasonal rivers and streams. Finally, there is no oxygen in atmosphere of the Counterpart, and no biosphere. There is some evidences that ancestors of the Failure inhabitants also tried to establish some facilities on the surface of the Counterpart. The Counterpart is barely surveyed by automatic probes, due to humans of Failure simply too busy with surviving on their inhospitable world.
