WarioPunkI approached the Trails of Cold Steel saga (never played a Nihon Falcom game before) with the third chapter, because it was the only one available for Nintendo Switch.
I knew that the Falcom games had a huge amount of text and dialogue but I didn't think such a massive thing.
The things I really liked are the development of the characters (Ash and Altina above all), the battle and Orb system (very deep and strategic) and the dense world building that the company has been carrying out for 20 years.
I didn't like the too many anime-style cliches and the main story which in its basic banality is made unnecessarily intricate and convulsive without ever shining. At the end of the 110 hours of gameplay I felt satisfied and immediately bought the fourth and final chapter of the saga.
